The Wasteland Beautification Project at large is a way to develop creative solutions to some environmental problems by seeing them through the lens of art, social interaction, and public awareness.

manifesto

Wasteland Beautification Project seeks to transform perception
and relation
of people to land→from wasteland
(land for/buried under waste)
toward its beautification←through
the act of (re-)arranging==>the waste becomes art==>by transforming waste-land into art-land we beautify it+we claim it by and for attention⇔it may
not be dumped on again+those who
averted eyes from the waste will look upon art→they may make waste into art elsewhere or remove the waste-art from the land==>thus, Wasteland Beautification

From now on
The Wasteland Beautification Project can only grow until there are no more wastelands.
This project will expand to other locations and new communities of participants.
The research is to test its efficacy with time and place.
The goal is to develop a network of persons and institutions that will participate in this project simultaneously in different regions.
The hope is to involve a diverse population to beautify wastelands and claim them as art-lands.
The incentive is to counteract the growth of wastelands by their beautification with the only tool we have readily available – art.
You are invited to participate now and in the future in The Wasteland Beautification Project!
